Mahogany offers music courses to cater to both the casual & serious enthusiast. For the one that best suit you, please study the courses below:



Classical guitar
This course arms you with the ability to read music, keep time and to interpret the expressions of classical music. A study of theory is also required. You will be taught a repertoire covering the different periods of classical music. This course also prepared you for the ABRSM system of examination right up to Diploma level.



Jazz guitar course
Using the tablature system of learning, you'll soon be able to enjoy playing the standards like Blue Moon, Autumn Leaves and the Shadow of Your Smile. Your course of study will include secondary chord substitution e.g. major 7th, 9th & 13th; and arpeggio style, Bossa Nova and Samba rhythms.



Electric guitar
The style of Van Halen, Ritchie Blackmore, Slash and other contemporaries. Special techniqes:- Power chording, Lead Playing, Whammy Bar, Tricks & Tapping.



Acoustic guitar
Fundamental chord knowledge will be taught, along with the skills needed to strum and accompany the voice. The student will be able to play solo after a few months.



Saxophone
Course for both the beginners and more experienced players are available in a relaxed personal one student - one teacher environment.



Drum/Digital drum
A totally new programme in drum teaching method. The basic will be taught on the entire drum set in the shortest time available. Your course of study will include basic set-ups, reading and improvisation, coordination of hands and feet, and features a variety of contemporary and basic rhythm patterns.

Arranging for lesson time
Our academy is open 6 days a week. With Monday off, from 12.30 pm to 9 pm on weekdays and 10.30 am to 6pm on weekends.

Rockschool exams - Guitar, Bass, Drums and Popular Piano

Rockschool offers exams in Guitar, Bass, Drums and Popular Piano from Debut up to Grade 8.

Grade Exams:
are for students who want to develop performance and technical skills. A graded examination is made up of the following components:

A performance of either three pieces from the Rockschool syllabus book or two pieces from the book and one free choice piece.
